Dr. Collings is thrilled to be practicing as a licensed naturopathic doctor in Alliston, Ontario. He recently completed a residency in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a special focus on chronic Lyme disease and the natural treatment of all forms of chronic illness. He is pleased to accept new patients in a region which is underserviced for general family medicine, with a great need for Lyme disease treatment as it is endemic to southern Ontario.
Through his own personal health journey, he began to foster an interest and respect for the principles and philosophies of Naturopathic medicine at a young age. Dr. Collings strongly believes in “Doctor as Teacher,” as well as treating patients as a whole, and looks forward to working with you to achieve your health goals. He believes it is important to heal mentally, physically and emotionally to optimize health, while preventing and treating diseases.
Dr. Collings is pleased to offer his services in general family medicine, with a special interest in the treatment of chronic Lyme disease, and adjunctive cancer care. He is also trained in and has successfully treated; pain management, chronic fatigue & fibromyalgia, food allergy treatment, heavy metal chelation, inflammatory bowel disease & digestive illness, hormone imbalance, adrenal and thyroid function, ADHD, autism, and cardiovascular disease.
For patients with a cancer diagnosis Dr. Collings works toward enhanced survival and quality of life through the integration of Naturopathic Oncology into conventional cancer care. Please note that naturopathic doctors cannot treat cancer itself, which is the job of the medical oncologist. Adjunctive cancer care, or naturopathic oncology, focuses on supporting patients with a cancer diagnosis by boosting their immune system and reducing side effects of conventional cancer therapies.
Dr. Collings was the first resident to train under Dr. Bryan Rade at the East Coast Naturopathic Clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Rade’s expertise in chronic Lyme disease and adjunctive cancer care has helped expand Dr. Collings’ knowledge and skill base as an expert in treating chronic disease. Dr. Collings is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and holds an undergraduate degree in Honours Microbiology from the University of Guelph in Ontario. As a licensed Naturopathic doctor, he is registered under the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, and holds membership with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. Dr. Collings also practiced Naturopathic medicine with the Brampton Civic Hospital and the William Osler Health System. He has pursued additional professional training in a number of fields, including: Chronic Lyme Disease management, nutrient therapy, allergy & Immunotherapy, and advanced scalp acupuncture.
